Oracle just unveiled NetSuite Next. New look. New AI. Big claims. We definitely love the ambition. But let’s try to see through the hype and answer what operators actually ask the day after the keynote:
what changes for me, how soon, and what do I do first?
The UI shift, for real
NetSuite’s classic look has been the suite’s face for years, familiar, a bit clunky, reliably NetSuite. Next shifts that center of gravity to Oracle’s Redwood design, a cleaner visual language with tighter spacing, clearer hierarchy, and components that feel consistent from list to record to report.
You get smarter lists that surface what matters first, infinite scroll that kills the old page-by-page grind, and fewer modal detours thanks to contextual panels for details and quick actions. It feels less like filling out forms and more like working in a focused workspace, with latency trimmed and layouts that breathe on both big monitors and laptops.
On top, the experience is now opinionated about flow, an assistant that turns “what’s happening?” into “do this next”.
But that’s technically last year’s news (Redwood was announced and launched last year) the real headline is Ask Oracle, agentic workflows, and AI Canvas, so the path from question to action lives in one place and stays in your context.
Headliners
· Ask Oracle is your front door. Type a plain-English question, get a summary, relevant records or KPIs, and proposed next steps in the same thread. It keeps context, respects roles and permissions, and leaves an audit trail. Great first targets are close diagnostics, collections triage, and inventory exceptions.
· Agentic workflowsturn answers into actions. Instead of a static result, you get a guided path that can draft, route, or schedule work inside your approvals. Think “stage these invoices for follow-up,” “reallocate stock,” or “prepare a vendor shortlist.” You review, accept, or adjust. Start with one weekly headache, convert it into a repeatable decision path, then measure the time and clicks saved.
· AI Canvas is the shared workspace. Pull in records and saved searches, ask questions in the margin, compare scenarios, then dispatch decisions to tasks or approvals. It shines for planning, reconciliation, and “what-if” sessions where multiple roles need the same live context.
What this means today: availability, cost, and what’s in it
NetSuite Next will not be available to everyone right away. Oracle’s guidance is initial North America rollout over the next 12 months, with previews and other regions following. Expect staged access by account and region. Fingers crossed it gets here sooner rather than later.
If you do get access though, make sure to run a tight, outcome-focused pilot. Pick three weekly prompts, one month-end use case, and one exception workflow. Turn on the new experience, validate roles and approvals, and benchmark speed-to-action against your current close, cash, or fulfillment metrics. If you need help here, let us know! We know a thing or two about setting up environments.
And on the topic of cost, Oracle hasn’t posted a separate price for “Next.” Historically they’ve positioned NetSuite AI as included, but the official caveat says timing and pricing can change. Treat it as check-with-your-rep. But don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated.
What this means for consultants like Salora ERP
The play shifts from “where to click” to how decisions flow. Discovery now includes prompt paths, escalation logic, and agent guardrails. Implementations move toward measurable decision pipelines.
Rescue work focuses on turning spaghetti ad-hoc processes into governed automations with audit trails. That’s our sweet spot.

Nerd corner: integrations and build-with-AI
- AI Connector Service supports MCP, so you can bring your own AI assistant under governance.
- New platform pieces like SuiteAgent frameworks and AI toolkits aim to let devs build agents, wire prompts, and expose AI services to SuiteApps and workflows
- Ask Oracle is designed to work across your SuiteCloud customizations and partner apps, so your context isn’t siloed.
Bottom line
NetSuite Next gets you to the decision point faster. Salora makes the follow-through predictable. We plug in Dunning+, Syncard, ProcureCommand, and MFGCommand where the suite still has friction and deliver wins you can measure in 90 days.
